A to Z 2019 April Blogger Challenge The Letter G - Goose Bumps

It's April - That means I will be participating in the A to Z Blog Challenge.

I will be posting six days a week for the month of April - (with a rest day on Sunday).
Each post will begin with the corresponding letter of the alphabet beginning with A and finishing with the letter Z.

I began participating in this challenge in 2012.   With the exception of last year, I believe I completed the challenge each year.   Last year I lost steam somewhere around the letter W.
Let's see how far I get this year.

Goose Bumps

Now that the weather is starting to get a little nicer, Ross and I try to get out of the house for a little while each day.

But while we hibernated this past winter, we watched a lot of TV.

With our cable service, we can record five shows at once.

Even though we subscribe to many of the main premium cable channels, Netflix and Amazon Prime, we rarely record five shows at once or ever fill up the DVR.   I think that may say something about the lack of fine programming or perhaps it is our eclectic taste.

Ross and I usually have the same taste in TV shows.  I am slightly more fussy about what I like to watch, though. Ross watches a couple shows that are only background noise for me as I sit and knit.

One of the shows that I never miss is "This is Us".  I became hooked on it from the first episode.

I must say, though, as season three unfolded,  I began to feel as though this family had way too much drama in their lives.   I wondered if the writers really felt that they were telling stories of average every day families.

I imagine all of us have highs and lows, good times and bad, segments of our lives that we will never forget.

Real lives though, unlike the "This is Us" lives, are made up of the sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes exciting,  but most times, day-to-day routine moments.

I was beginning to get a little disenchanted with the show.

But, last night's season finale of "This Is Us", particularly the last scene, gave me goose-bumps.  Honest to goodness goose bumps.

  1. I like the picture of you all! I wanted to see that show but hubby kind of controls the remote here (its a battle I lost a long time ago and didn't bother trying to resurrect). Hopeful it will be on Netflix or Prime some day so I can catch it. I did hear it was very good. Now I'll have to google it and see if someone has a spoiler's alert on it so I can see what made you have goosebumps.

    1. Thanks, Betty. The photo was taken last year at the beach. We rent a house for a week and it's nice to all be together.
I am not sure you would understand the goosebumps by reading a spoiler alert. It sort of takes an investment to get to that point. And I would recommend the investment. :)

  2. I definitely have some shows that are strictly for knitting to.

    1. For me, if I am watching TV, I am usually knitting, not matter what is on.

  3. Fun photo! I definitely don't watch much TV at all and this isn't a program I'm familiar with. Glad the weather has warmed up - winter felt indeterminately long this year and I'm ready to enjoy Spring.

    1. Thanks. The photo is a treasure for sure. It's not often that we are all in the same place at the same time. Me too, about the weather. Yesterday our temperatures even got a touch out of the 70's.F

  4. We record a LOT of shows, too many at times. That's one we haven't started, trying not to add more to the list right now. Although I love Sci-Fi, I prefer my goose bumps to come from music. ;)
