Joyride Journey - A to Z Challenge - The Letter J

Blogging from A to Z Challenge
April 2016
This month I will be participating in the “Blogging from A-Z Challenge”
What is it?

Blogging every day.  It begins on April First with a topic themed on something with the letter A, then on April second another topic with the letter B as the theme, and so on until I finish on April thirtieth with the theme based on the letter Z.   The theme of the day is the letter scheduled for that day.

Journey

When I write I journey through the deep recesses of my inner sanctum.
My route is rarely planned.   I typically wind up in a completely different place than where I originally intended to go.  In fact, I am routinely derailed by a road block in which case  I may stop to rest.  But if I'm on a roll and am anxious to get on with the trip, I will take a chance on the road less traveled.
There are times when I come to a fork in the road, guided by my sensible side, I will want to play it safe by taking the familiar right-hand turn.   I have found, though,  my experience is more rewarding when I decide to be daring and take a sharp left to jostle down a bumpy road.  It can be a dark path filled with ditches and scary things.  But, as I slowly travel along, I begin to see a glimmer of light which grows brighter and brighter, fully illuminating by the time I reach my destination.
I am always curious about the experiences of others who write.
Do you disappear for awhile, like I do, totally immersed in an imagination joyride?

  1. I don't write per se, but my imagination does take me on interesting journeys at times :)

  2. It's been so long since I've immersed myself in writing a story, I miss it. I don't think this will be my month either.

    1. I do miss writing too. It's one of the reasons I do the challenge.

  3. I spend time planning what I'm going to write before I sit down. Of course, the planning stages can take me to some interesting destinations.

    1. No, not me. I'm definitely not a planner. I guess that's why the A-Z is challenging for me.

  4. I'm not a great planner so my stories seem to emerge before my eyes and I often have no idea to where they'll be heading! Your stories always seem so neat and well wrapped I can't believe you just write and see what happens!

    1. Yes, that's the way I do it. I have been telling stories that way for my whole life.

  5. I love journeys and what I love most about them is the effect they have. One is never the same after a journey.

    1. That's true, especially if you keep your eyes open.

    1. Yes, that happens to me when I am rudely interrupted by the dog barking or my husband talking to me.
