The topic for each day will begin with the designated letter of the alphabet.
Today’s letter is A.
I often wonder if what I reveal about myself when I write would be recognizable to you if we were to meet face to face. Do you think I have a small quiet voice? Perhaps you imagine me to have a smokey gravely tone.
Do you think that if we shared an afternoon together we would get along famously or would there be far too many awkward silences?
I mean we each have a common interest, right? Write.
Would I laugh at the antics of a clown? Or do you assume that subtle humor is what would make me giggle?
If we should meet for a movie or a play, would you guess that I would be more inclined towards a drama, romantic comedy, or psychological thriller?
Do you suppose that I march to the tune of a different drummer, or do I fall in lock step with the crowd?
As I visit you during one of the 26 of these days, I will be forming of picture of you in my mind. I will be reading between the lines to try and catch of glimpse of who you are.
And when you visit me I hope you get to know more “About Me.”
Bonus A -
About town photos.
My chauffeur, (that’s right I have one) drove me around town today. Here’s what I found interesting.
Surely one of the benefits of blogging is that we get to project the identity that we feel suits us best?
ReplyDeleteStu,
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting comment. I think that if you listen closely to a writer, you will hear whispers of multi dimensional voices spoken by layers of identities. Which, in reality is who we all are, complex individuals.
Very pretty where you live. It is interesting to ponder those that we follow with blogs or come to know through challenges like the A/Z one. I know we choose to write what we want about ourselves and leave so much off; it will be interesting to follow you through the month and learn about you!

Thanks for stopping by, Betty. I like your bench. It looks like a lovely spot also.
DeleteHi Margo,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I will be visiting you soon.
I've often wondered the same thing. Would people be surprised after reading my writing, then meeting me in person? Would I be disappointed to meet some of my favorite authors if they aren't how I imagined them? And now my mind is stuck on pondering this question. Great 'A' topic!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the A to Z Challenge!
Thanks for visiting my post today. Sometimes I think leaving something to the imagination makes an author more intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me wonder what I've revealed (or not) about myself! I enjoyed your post!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI've often wondered about this sort of thing as well. I also wonder about how the people who are close to me in "real life" who also read my blog view the person I am on the blog. I don't think I'm ever dishonest about who I am on the blog, but I do know that I sometimes ration out information--leave out parts that are maybe a little too real for my established blog persona. I tell the truth, in other words, but not always the whole truth. The older I get, the more I wonder how often (if ever) the whole truth is really called for. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you A-Z-ing. And looking forward to stalking your archives to see what I've missed on my most recent bloggy sabbatical.
The way you write certainly makes me feel that you are genuine. Your posts project a real and honest person, not a just a persona.
DeleteBTW, I am perfectly happy being stalked by you, MM. Feel free anytime :)
