A GoPro, A Hat And Two Birthdays

I have decided to participate in the National Blog Post Month for November.  That means I am going to be posting each day of November.

November 10, 2013

A gorgeous sunny day with temperatures in the high 60’s.
We walked on the boardwalk in Ocean City and we were not alone.

Six years ago today my grandson Kenny was born.   Since I will not be able to see him or even talk to him to wish him a happy birthday, I “whishpered” my love to him and imagined how much he fun he is surely having this day.

A few more than six years ago today my sister Elaine was born.  When we were younger we may have had a disagreement or two.  Yes, there was a time we even separated the room we shared with a clothes line.  “You stay on your side and I’ll stay on mine.”
That seems like a life time ago, mainly because it was.  We both have gone through many life times since then.  Those disagreements seem quite insignificant now.
As I reflect on those times, I understand that teenage antics, such as clothes line room dividers, and then even when we lived thousands of miles apart, we could never lose our unique connection.
For the past six months she has been carefully caring for our brother.  She has been and continues to be remarkable through this difficult time.
Her kindness, tolerance, and empathy has inspired me to open my heart when I wasn’t sure I could.

I want a GoPro!
Tonight’s “Sixty Minutes" did a segment on these cameras.  Even though I probably won’t ever sky dive, surf or swim with the sharks, I think it would be cool to observe my life from a completely different angle.

I finished the hat I’ve been working on.  I love it!  It’s called “Under the Bridge”.  The pattern can be found on my projects page in Ravelry.

That's it.  Time for Homeland.
